Ash, Shah Rukh, Deepika at the Zee Cine Awards!

Bollywood stars have not got a chance to take their makeup off yet - what with the number of awards functions clogging up their calendar!

The latest is the Zee Cine Awards, one of Bollywood biggest awards shows, which was held at the Marina Bay Sands in Singapore. The stars were dressed in their best, and they also had their best answers for the press.

Like Deepika Padukone who said, 'Ranbir and I belong to the same group of friends. And you cannot shun your group of friends just because of your relationship status, isn't it?'The function was chockfull of performances - with the likes of Shah Rukh Khan, Priyanka Chopra, Arjun Rampal and others taking the stage. This year's Zee Cine Awards also had something special - Akshay Kumar playing host for the first time. He took the mic along with Sajid Khan. The Zee Cine Awards is Bollywood's only viewers' choice award - so mass appeal is the basis of the winning vote!So none of us were taken aback when Dabangg once again walked away with all the awards, despite worthy contenders like Peepli [Live] and Raajneeti.

But Guzaarish did get a nod. Aishwarya Rai walked away with the special jury award for her performance in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's film.Dabangg bagged nine awards in all - including Best Action, Best Editing, Best Screenplay, Best Music, Best Background Music, Song of the Year, Best Debutant Female, Best Debutant Director and Best Film. The theme was also carried forward by Priyanka Chopra - who introduced the six films nominated in the Best Film category.

She dressed up as a Dabangg cop.The evening was marked by several performances - Aishwarya danced to a hattrick of hits from Robot, Action Replayy and Raavan, Arjun Rampal danced with five beauties to Dhanno, and Rishi and Neetu Kapoor entranced with a medley of their hits.Shah Rukh made the evening memorable by getting the media-shy Sussanne Roshan to come on stage (for the very first time) and got Hrithik to serenade her with the Sajda from My Name Is Khan.Deepika added to the fun by doing a number, which was a collage of her own hit songs!

World Cup venues will be ready on time: Shetty!

Tournament director Ratnakar Shetty on Tuesday said all the 13 venues for the cricket World Cup, beginning Feb 19, will be ready in time.

With the World Cup, being co-hosted by India, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh, just 25 days away, the preparedness of the venues in India and Sri Lanka has come under the scanner with redevelopment of some of the grounds failing to meet the deadline.

"I think the concerns are more in the media than anything else," Shetty said following International Cricket Council's (ICC) inspection of the Wankhede Stadium, one of the grounds which is behind schedule.

"As far as we are concerned, all the 13 venues which are going to stage the World Cup are coming up very well and we don't see any reason for concern."

No cards, we sent wedding invites by SMS: Neelam Kothari!

Neelam Kothari and Samir Soni have tied the knot, but the couple didn't send out formal wedding cards to the guests, instead invited them through SMS.

We didn't get any wedding cards printed...thank god! We had no time to get cards done. Initially we planned to invite only 35 people - that list finally went up to 200. We just SMSed all our close friends. Everyone who mattered to us was at the wedding,' said Neelam, who got married on Jan 23.

Neelam and Samir's friends who attended the wedding included the entire Kapoor family - Jeetendra, Shobha, Ekta and Tusshar. Also present were Karisma Kapoor, Raveena Tandon, Sanjay Suri, Sophie Chowdhary and Rahul Roy.The turn-out was a hundred percent though there was no formal invitation.

'The whole process of getting the cards printed, then addressing them and couriering them is so cumbersome. We were spared that,' said Neelam, 42, who was one of the sought after actresses in the 1980s.

She featured in movies like 'Ilzaam', 'Love 86', 'Khudgarz', 'Hatya', 'Aag Hi Aag' and even teamed up with Aamir Khan in 'Afsana Pyaar Ka'.

Feeling married to Samir is no different for Neelam than what they shared before.

'We waited a long time to get married. He came with his baggage. I had mine. While we sorted these issues out, we got a chance to know one another even better. So I guess the most radical change after marriage is that I shift from my own home in Khar to Samir's place in Seven Bungalows,' said the actress who now works as a jewllery designer.

To the couple's delight, the auspicious moment for the 'saat pheras' coincided with the sunset by the poolside at the Taj Lands End.Neelam and Samir are not planning honeymoon right now.

'The honeymoon has to be put off because she has her work and I've mine to take care of. But we're off to Shirdi day after tomorrow (Jan 26) to seek the god's blessings. We feel in marriage we've reached at a natural and inevitable culmination to our relationship,' said Samir who has been active on both small screen and movies.

Microsoft on Halo hiring rampage!

Late last December, Microsoft Game Studio’s 343 Industries posted 15 job listings onto their Halo job portal page, looking to hire several talented people and place them in top game development positions. Now, GameSpot have again discovered that Microsoft has updated this job listing bulletin area again back on January 17th, this time listing 12 jobs.

There are several game development positions up for grabs on the list, such as Software Development Engineer, Senior Technical Artist, Game Engineer, Senior Environment Artist, Senior Concept artist, and Matte Painter, among others. What could this all be for?

One possibility is a game dubbed “Halo: Nation”, which was mentioned by Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer at CES. No details were shared, but speculation hints at the possibility of a WP7 Halo title. As exciting as this would be, however, let’s not get our hopes up; Halo: Nation could simply be a novel, comic book, anime, short film, or other spawning of the franchise.

With the recent game-related hirings however, they must be cooking up something else in game form to excite the many Halo franchise fans.

Sourav Ganguly to move to Kochi IPL team!

The game may well not be over yet for Sourav Ganguly as far as the Indian Premier League (IPL) is concerned. The former Indian skipper may reportedly be signed on by the Kochi IPL team after being ignored by all the ten teams during the auction.

The Kochi team which will be making its IPL debut, according to reports, is now keen to take the Prince of Kolkata on board.

The only catch though is that the rest of the nine franchises have to agree to Kochi signing Ganguly on as the IPL rules clearly state that the capped players put up for auction can only be bought through an open bidding process.

Ganguly, along with Mumbai captain Wasim Jaffer and Punjab pacer VRV Singh were the only three Indian players to remain unsold at the end of the two-day auction.
